Matt adjusted the Tea set and glanced at the clock on the shelf. He had picked a pungent green tea. He had never quiet gotten the hang of making it but he figured the other would like to feel at home so he had tried. He set the tea out in his normal set, the one with dancing badgers on it, and began to clean the room. He lit a fire and dusted, even moving Beaver , who gave a miffed humph and moved closer to the table.
As he was setting out the plates he felt his stomach rumble. Oh no, he thought he was past that stage in the hunger. He glanced at the cookies he had set out and then turned away.
"No your fat enough as is."

He did remember his way through the library, but definitely not to Matthew's office. Kiku once again, after being lost for a good 15 minutes, called on a passing by student to take him to the Charms Teacher's office. "Thank you;;" He smiled, embarrassed at the students to hurried off and knocked on the door a few times.
"Mr. Williams?" Kiku glanced down at the small parcel in his hands before adjusting his slightly crooked tie. "It's the Librarian."

Matt smiled. "Hello Kiku come in. Sit down." He was sittin on one side of a small square table. His robes had been changed to a tee-shirt. On his lap was an Albino Beaver. "Hard time getting here?" he asked smiling warmly.

Opening the door, Kiku was greeted by the soft fragrance of...something he did not expect to smell in Hogwarts. "....Green tea?" He blinked, taken aback as he scooted in and closed the door behind him. "Oh, yes;;; I'm very sorry for being late." Kiku had never been in major trouble, other then being dragged around the campus by the Librarian that worked here in his childhood in effort to get out of the Library...I wonder where she's gone... Brushing the thoughts away for a later time, he held out a small parcel while nearing the table where Matthew and his small white animal were located. "I hope you like sweet things since you mentioned cookies. This isn't much, but it's sweets from Japan."

Matt smiled taking the package and setting them on the table. " Thank you! I love sweet things but I am trying to cut back. I may break it for you." He motioned to the chair. "Please sit down. I hope I made the tea right. One of My colleges was from Japan and he was often dismayed by my skills. "

Kiku stiffened when Matthew told him he was trying to cut back. An apology instantly formed on his tongue before he swallowed it back, knowing you couldn't apologize for everything you did wrong here. Even more so as an adult. "I'm sure that I'm not as picky for tea when you've done your best to make me feel at home here. Thank you." He smiled, and sat down on the chair obediently, another thought floating through is mind about Matthew's colleague from Japan. However, Kiku never felt bothered to form it into words, and the thought escaped him as quickly as it formed. He took the steaming mug in his hands and took a slow sip.
"..it's delicious."

Matt smiled and nodded. "I do try to make others comfortable." He takes his own cup, not noticing the worry. He drinks it slowly, enjoying a companionable silence between them. "So do you like it here?" he finally asked.

A smile formed on Kiku's lips, brilliantly hidden by the cup. The tea warmed his heart, as did slowly melt the rigid barrier he had put up around himself. "I do think I'll like it here. I'm not sure though..it's only still my first day, haha." He chuckled softly. "I have yet to introduce myself to the current Headmaster of Hogwarts.....which I've noticed. Mr. Kirkland is now the Headmaster, isn't he?" Wonder how he got that spot.. Sarcasm ticked his throat as Kiku merely smiled at Matthew.

"Yeah, I was surprised, but he seems a good fit. He is fair, intelligent, if a bit quick tempered. At least thats how I see him. Though he always seems to be watching Al." Matt nodded lightly his own drink in his hands. He turns the cup in thought. "Of course anyone who knew Al and I as kids would know to watch us both but... " 'Arthur always did like to pick on him.'

"Al...ooh, you mean Alfred Jones." Kiku raised an eyebrow at Matthew before lowering his gaze to the frothy liquid in his hands. "I do recall he was..very energetic....again, I'm sorry..I wasn't much of a socialist so I don't recall much about anyone. Mr. Kirkland and I were in the same grade though and under the same house. Even still, I don't remember much about him. You must know the Headmaster and Mr. Jones well...." Kiku's voice drifted off at the end, noticing that there was something more to how Matthew ended his reply with mid-sentence at the end.

"Don't be sorry for being the way you are."
Matt smiles lightly and nods. "I was close to Arthur yes and Al was my ... " here he pauses "best friend." He says, a light frown crossing his face before he shakes his head and pushes the thought aside. 'No he is in love with Arthur, I must respect that.' "He and I were a pair, we played all sorts of pranks. Al was always the one who was brave enough to do them but I was the one who could make it happen." He shook his head and sipped again, letting the memories slink back, already feeling his arm burning.
"I am sorry I am talking far too much. "

"......;;;" He shrunk back into his chair, mumbling a sorry before closing his mouth with another sip of green tea.
...As Kiku listened to Matthew speak of his friend Alfred, and Arthur...he couldn't help but think that somehow, there was much more to Matthew's feelings for Alfred then just friends. He seemed like he had a past with the Kirkland though... The apology at the end confirmed it. Setting the cup on the desk, the Japanese male laughed again, a little more enthusiastically this time as he raised his empty hand to cover his mouth.
"No, no...I enjoy your talking, since I'm not a good talker myself. I do enjoy listening though."

Matt shifted and smiled despite the realization that he was spilling his secrets to the other. He shifts a hand up to his hair and tucks it back in nervousness. It wouldn't be far off to think of his visits to the doctors post the death of his ex. He had been told he was suffering Post traumatic stress disorder, and his symptoms were the muting of his emotions. Matt had nodded, with a small and well placed 'Lets go with that.' The doctor had laughed lightly but nervously. Matt for his part had almost felt pride for his ability to mute his emotions so much they thought something was wrong with him.
"Well I don't like to go on in depth about myself..." He muttered.

He smiled softly upon the comment. Oh, so you are like me... "I don't enjoy going in depth about myself either, Mr. Williams.." Kiku started, wondering if he should continue on. He felt troubled, the stress starting to set back in, trying to shut his emotions off from others. However, he also felt obligated to make the male in front of him feel slightly, if any, better. "I believe we all have a few secrets of our own that we do not like to share.." Kiku's gaze flickered to his hands, one crossed over the other neatly on the table.
"Sometimes it feels as if, it is better if the world around us didn't know anything about ourselves and they should carry on as it to prevent further pain."

Matt seems to be fading out, his body looking almost duller. His hands are looking almost transparent as they hold the cup. He knew he had many secrets, ones he wished he could tell, deep dark ones that he felt gnawing away at him. The clock on the mantle piece ticks away the minutes as he pounders what Kiku had said. Should he trust this man. He looks worried, perhaps the other didn't want to hear his problems.
Still...
Matt breathed deeply.
"Indeed. I have lately been pondering if I am really needed by someone, or if I am causing them pain and should just fade into the back ground."

"...Needed by someone?" Kiku stopped, asking himself that same question. Was he ever needed? Born into a higher class of life, his family never really gave any strict regulations for Kiku to become a leader. His life would probably be classified effectively as the most boring of lives to go through. If Kiku had to be pessimistic with himself, the world probably didn't need him.
Now was not the time to think about him, however.
"..I'm pretty sure Alfred would think otherwise....I'm sorry, it's not my place to say this.." Kiku's fingers tapped his hand in a slow rhythm. "Your presence is very warming to me as a person too. I'm sure you know by first-hand experience that I do not like to mingle with others. Your kindness is very.....soothing."

Matt stared at the other for a second. "H-how did you know I was talking about Al?" he finally asked, setting his cup down. It was amazing the other knew such things. Perhaps he could help Matt feel better about Al's and Arthur's relationship.

He didn't know Matthew was talking about Alfred. Kiku actually meant to say that Alfred, as his friend, would think otherwise about not being needed....however. It seemed that he he had luckily stumbled across the jackpot of truths in reaching for the consolation prize of moral support. "ah..." Kiku started, not knowing what to say next. His brain was in full gear now.
"I'm sure Mr. Jones still needs you beside him, is what I meant. You did, share your most memorial days of youth here with him. Having that strong of an impact on someone else's life..I don't think you could just fade out and disappear from their lives regardless of what may be going on in their behalf.."

Matt blushes "Ah yes well, that was then." He muttered. "B-but um you know people grow apart." He shifts so he is sitting back, stroking the beaver in his lap. His head was swimming with the same thoughts he had had since he had seen Arthur rush Al.
Arthur was smart, strong, and loving, once you got to know him. It was not a wonder Al would find him attractive.

"Grow apart...." Kiku mumbled. "I wouldn't think that Mr. Jones seems like the kind who would grow apart from someone who he shared his childhood adventures with, regardless of most people...." He smiled comfortingly at the other, before reaching for the remains of his lukewarm tea. "Since you've been very close to him, I would suppose that you know him very well...Still, 'fading-away' from someone is a much harder task to accomplish then you think. Mentally, that is. Physically, in a world as such is the one we live in..a simple word can make us disappear from the face of this Earth.. However. Memories tend to linger. They may be stored away with time, but they will still be there, ever so strongly with anything as subtle as someone that reminds them of you."
"Whatever Mr. Jones is going through..I'm sure he needs you there for him...by a view of feeling and understanding."
So please, don't look at life with those eyes, as if you're about to disappear into thin air at any moment.
