What's here... (you don't need to read them all if you don't want to but please, if you're posting in a thread with me that takes place in one of these rooms, read the one describing the area, ja?)

Situated on one of the upper floors of the castle is the office of self-professed 'most awesome teacher', Gilbert Beilschmidt, resident Transfigurations Professor at the school. The door itself is large and curved into an arch, silver runes etched upon its mahogany surface and shimmering gently in the dappled light which filters through the stained-glass window set into the left wall. The office sits at the end of a bright and airy hallway, which is carved in smooth white stone - it is, perhaps, not the best place for the light-hating Professor to live, but he's far too lazy to move it somewhere else and besides, he enjoys the view out of the windows at night.
Stepping inside the office, which is an odd sort of half-circle shape, one finds that the scenery is quite different from the hallway outside, the air an obvious amount cooler, too. The abrupt change in temperature is enough to make one shiver, but that's how Gilbert likes things. There is a fireplace in this room, but judging by the large amount of dust settled over the brickwork and old wood, it's not been used in some time. Candles, which in most other places would be set up all over the place, are nowhere to be seen, their holders empty and unused. Scrolls, broken quills and a variety of assorted other items and trinkets are stashed on shelfs and cabinets on one side of the room, while huge, teetering piles of books surround the desk standing near the back wall, a second doorway behind it. The desk is littered with random scraps of paperwork and drawings, one of which appears to be a sketch of a tiny owl. A few pots of paint are scattered to one side of the desk, next to the pile of drawings. To the right side of the office, before the fireplace, are a couple of plush, comfortable armchairs and a sofa, which the Professor apparently uses often and sometimes sleeps on, judging by the duvet rolled up next to the furniture.
Like many other Professors in the school, Gilbert's bedroom, where he sleeps for the entire working year, is situated just beyond his office, through the door behind his desk. This room is warm in comparison to the previous, a veritable wall of heat washing across one's skin as they step across the threshold. This comforting warmth emanates from the enormous fireplace set into one wall, and unlike the one in the office, seems well-used and is currently lit, flames crackling merrily away in the grate. The wooden boards underfoot are obscured in the centre of the room by a large, Prussian blue rug, the curtains half-drawn across each of the windows -- save a small circular one -- being of the same colouration.
An enormous bed has been placed against the wall opposite the fireplace, swathed in sheets of the same Prussian blue colour which dominates this small space. It is small, but in a nice way; warm, homely and very cosy, which is exactly how Gilbert likes it. The heat is enough to keep him from freezing but isn't enough to cause him to faint, and the overall atmosphere is comfortable and relaxing. It's a haven of sorts to the albino, a place to be more himself and let down his arrogant mask. Set before the fireplace is a large, plushy armchair that's actually big enough to accommodate two people comfortably, a cushion and blanket lying upon it; clearly, the Professor enjoys curling up there, although if anyone else may occupy the extra space with him, well...that remains unknown.
