Reserved Time. Second day in Hogwarts. The day itself had been eventful for Kiku, who wasn't used to the amount of students, or population of a dormitory-school yet. After a calm and enlightening talk with Matthew Williams the Charms Professor yesterday, Kiku now had a slight understanding of some of the current faculty members. Especially that he had to beware of a certain 'man' called Francis (as Kiku presumed Francis to be a MALE name) who seemed to have certain Vampiric tendencies. The Charms Professor probably didn't even DREAM of Kiku actually believing his white lie. His sleep had been peaceful, and the morning was nice and quiet. He spent most of that morning brewing tea, drinking it, grabbing a different brand, brewing tea, and drinking that cupful. And endless cycle. As students wandered in and out of the Library Kiku always kept one eye open for the direction where the Restricted Area was, had there be a case where a daring Gryffindor or cunning Slytherin tested their luck on sneaking in for whatever reason they had. Luckily no one showed any form of suspicious behavior in the Library, and around mid-day, Kiku gradually neglected his duties of thinking about the restricted section. Kids were smart these days....well at least, for today. He settled with sitting at the corner of the long table, closest to the window for light and warmth of the suns rays. It was around late evening, when he noticed the other presence. Half-way through a large dusty book that explained the essence of Divination, Kiku noticed a single figure standing in the corner of the room out of the corner of his eye. Students had long disappeared from the chilly atmosphere, now getting even colder from the lack of heaters, or fireplaces save his office. As much as he would've enjoyed curling up in a couch by a fireplace reading a book, the atmosphere of a Library seemed more..appealing to the Japanese male. ...He's been there for a good hour and a half now..Doesn't look like a student.......faculty? I can never tell..everyone starts looking very mature once they hit their 6th and 7th years.. Kiku observed as he glanced at the figure. Sleek and ruffled sherlock hair was all he could make out, since the other had his back turned to him. Build of a male. Better not bother him while he's busy.. Kiku looked down at his book again and resumed reading.

It was only the second day, yet Arthur had founded that he really needed himself some down-time. It was always the first few days back - new students, new classes, new resources, new plans - but Arthur had gotten used to it over the few years he'd been headmaster here. He'd never really expected himself to become headmaster in the first place.
But it wasn't something he couldn't handle. Nope. He was fine.
But occasionally it was just nice to find some time to relax. Every since he was young reading had been such an attached part of him that it was one of those things he could rely on when he really needed to just distract and relax and forget about things. He'd done it most of the way through his own Student years, spending many a time carrying a few books to his dorm or back, or occasionally missing cerfew by hanging about in the library too long. Their Librarian hadn't been too good back then. To be frank, Arthur was quite glad that they weren't around anymore.
And while he'd been standing about there for what only felt like 45 minutes, at most, he could feel an eye trained on him occasionally. The picking of the lesser faculty members hadn't really been down to his responsibilty. Something as simple as that could be easily controlled by the Governers, afterall. Most of his robes hung down around him, a somewhat graceful mix of greens and hints of purple and blue in there, as the most prominent colours. Red seemed to outshine them all as a primary base of his main robe, however.
Hand in his pocket as the Brit gazed down silently at the pages before him, the silence surrounding the library devoid the passing through of the occasional ghost was cracked as Arthur sighed, softly shutting the book for now.
He really should be getting back to his office by now..
Arthur turned his head, and he blinked.

A few more pages crinkled under his pale fingers as they turned, filled with information. At this point of time however, he found himself reading just to become drowsy so he would lug his way back into his room. It was working. Slowly being attacked by drowsiness Kiku stifled a yawn as raised a fist to his mouth. His eyes glanced up by reflex to see if the other had heard him, and he froze as he noticed the other turning his head back.
And their eyes met. Or so Kiku thought. He couldn't remember exactly who the person was before him by his physical appearance, yet the overpowering aura of the man defined only one name. His yawn disappeared into thin air as he set his busy hand down on the smooth pages.
"....Good evening, Headmaster." Kiku managed to force his frozen lips to smile as he placed his free hand over the other.
Don't bother yourself or bother the Kirklands.
He didn't remember who exactly told him those words in his youth. He did remember that it was during his first year, as Kiku sat at the Ravenclaw table watching Arthur get sorted. One of his upperclassmen had whispered it to him, or to the general area around him. He never had a valid reason other then that to stay away from Arthur Kirkland, but he never bothered to become friends either: Kiku wasn't a social butterfly. They were mostly in the same classes, he remembered that much, due to both having outstanding grades. Still, it was a fairly large-scaled school and Kiku himself didn't have the motivation or drive to want to be famous, or infamous. His family had never been picky either and for that, he thought that he was blessed in his youth, knowing some family descendants had it worse then he would ever be able to imagine. He enjoyed his solitary, if anything, free life.
And now he probably didn't have to worry about bothering the now grown-man before him as their status changed from mere colleagues to Headmaster and Librarian anyway.

Arthur nodded, and he actually smiled. Oh, was the other man tired? Maybe he shouldn't have stayed around too long or insisted that he had left. Arthur could've sorted anything out himself.
A hand rubbed gingerly at the back of his already-permanently-tousled hair, suddenly feeling like he breached some sort of mannerism.
".. Oh, I'm terribly sorry if I've kept you here without you needing to be. I could have sorted anything out myself for the rest of tonight." His hand blindly reached out. It took a couple of seconds to flicker the book across the shelf he was standing in, before he assuringly slotted it back into place.
Kiku had been one of those persons in his dorm who really kept silent to himself. He didn't like talking with anybody if he absolutely had to, and Arthur did always feel a sense of polite denial most of the time they were in each other's conscious presence. He hadn't even heard that the male had been employed until just the other night.
He made a few steps forward and was soon standing in front of the desk. He held out his hand in some form of formal greeting, or acknowledgement. Either way. Arthur's tone itself was friendly. Politely, of course, but nevertheless friendly. It wasn't something that was heard too often by students.
"... It's nice to see you again, Honda. It's been a while.." He mused.
He'd lost a lot of friends in the past. He suddenly seemed to be finding a lot of ... well, people.
Hogwarts was never going to be normal.

It would've been a lie, if Kiku said he wasn't surprised at the other smiling. Arthur looked slightly fatigued, thought it may have just been the lack of light upon his face, strengthening the shadowy features on his face more then usual. Still. Smiling. It wasn't like the other was a heartless wizard, far from it, but Kiku himself never really remembered if they looked at each other face to face before. If ever. It was then, Kiku remembered why he had personally decided to stay away from the other man before him.
His eyes. Deep green beastly eyes that would probably suck the soul and mind out of the people who he used to live around at his home country. Light eyes and blond hair were the iconic marks of an angel to his ethnicity. He remembered never looking at anyone in the eye when he first entered Hogwarts because everyone looked so...beautiful. Beautiful, but terrifyingly different. Kiku was different now, of course, and used to change much more then he was back then, but even still. Captivating. Terrifying. Green eyes.
"Please, don't worry about me. I was merely doing my duty here." Kiku replied solemnly as he stood up as well, leaning over the table to shake Arthur's hand momentarily, before pulling away just as quickly. His own hands were stone cold.
"It is nice to see you as well, Mr. Kirkland. My sincerest congratulations upon your becoming of Headmaster." His eyes thinned, pleased, as he kept his smile. "It has indeed been a while..I never thought that I would have a chance to come back here, nevertheless work here.....thank you for that behalf." He tilted his head, then raised it in a short quiet bow.

"Well. Why, er, thankyou." Arthur could only really remark in response to that, feeling suddenly quite bashful at the remark. He hadn't really been told that except by what he considered true authority.
So to be said that by someone who was in the same dorm as him..
Arthur almost felt like he didn't really deserve it.
His hand hid away as he folded his arms softly, having to lean in just a little in the dim light. He blinked.
"Well, how are you enjoying it so far? You haven't been here long at all, if I recall."
A couple of days, at most. If he remembered.

"Two days, actually." Kiku replied, closing his book. He couldn't help but smile at the man's embarrassment to his words, understanding how it must've felt awkward even though he thanked him in a professional manner. Kiku really did enjoy being back at Hogwarts.
"I've been enjoying myself so far. Being surrounded by so many people again, and so suddenly..I do feel hesitant, but I think being a Librarian doesn't require as much socialization as professors need be." He added, laughing to himself. He really needed to get his fear of foreign things out of his way. He was 23 for goodness sakes.
"I do hope, that I won't get into any late-blooming school drama that I managed to keep myself out of the first time I enrolled here though.." He joked softly, placing his bookmark between the pages before closing the book. School drama...actually, it would be nice to see some school drama. Not necessarily BE in it. But to watch it.
It'd be good content for his novels.

Arthur tried a smile.
"Ahah, Rest assured, Honda. While I'm running this school, I expect school drama to be kept to a bare minimum." But he paused, and couldn't help but roll his eyes to himself.
"Of course, I highly expect that something will indeed go down."
The moonlight streamed through the highlit windows of the library, the dim lamps either hovering or sat around the room casting lengthy shadows into much of the library.
At the mention of Kiku's shyness, Arthur did try a small chuckle.
"I wouldn't worry. You'll find people to converse with, I expect. Compared to me, you've got a nice quiet job here." He patted the desk, before straightening up.
"I hope you'll enjoy it. I recall you used to spend a lot of time in here when you were a student. I'm surprised you wouldn't have become bored of it by now."

"haha;;" Kiku couldn't help but smile in sympathy when he caught Arthur pausing for a moment, clearly thinking his former statement over. He tilted his head to the side, hand to his mouth covering his edgy smile.
It relaxed however, at the mention of people to converse with.
"Yes. I have lately become acquainted with the Charms Professor, Mr. Williams yesterday. He re-welcomed me warmly in to Hogwarts." Kiku added, a little bit of ease in his tone of voice at the mention of his new friend.
He nodded, seeing that the other was quite ready to leave. Picking up his thick book to retire to his rooms, Kiku took a step back respectively. "One can never have enough of Hogwarts, Mr. Kirkland."

Something shifted in his eyes at the mention of the Charms teacher, and he nodded as he straightened his robes.
"Ah, Williams. Lovely person. Keep an eye out for him, will you?" He remarked, seeing that the smaller male was going to settle down for the night. At the mention of Hogwarts, he smiled.
Arthur had always loved Hogwarts itself. There was a certain magic and flare about it, ultimately. He'd seen quite a few things in his short time but Hogwarts, to him, had always held that same familiar feel as he grew up. He'd always felt attached to things that had been so stable to him. Because so many things had changed.
"Well, I hope to see you soon, yes?" He added. It wasn't often he came across someone who was just as .. well. run-of-the-mill, in his conversation.

"You'll know where to find me." Kiku furrowed his brows, a nervous laugh. "I was going to properly introduce myself to you tomorrow.." He made a small nervous laugh. It was a minor change, but anything different made him still feel slightly..itchy. Should he visit him anyway? ......it was something he'd think about later.
Holding up the book to his chest, Kiku lowered his eyes. "Good night, Headmaster Kirkland."

His eyes softened in gratitude and he gave his own slight bow, remembering vaguely that that was how the man had always greeted someone while they were students, or if he was being polite. He knew that the man didn't come from around here - quite a lot of members of staff in general weren't, for reasons he couldn't really explain - so Arthur was simply used to accustoming to some of the other's ways. ... Well, most of the time.
He turned to leave, his robes swishing out behind. He flicked at his wand and most of the lights in the library flickered out, save a few near the desk.
