Matt sighed as he climbed the stairs to his office. Smiling at the dancing animals he pushes the door open. The dusty air from the old office washes over his face, and he mutters a spell and the office lights up and a flame flutters into the fire place. He taps the table and a tea set appears. He settles down in his chair and waits for his requested students to come.

A blond followed a ways behind his Charms professor, still more or less thinking over the events of the feast. Focusing.. more on the incident just before it had ended.. Which was honestly all he had been there for, having been... In the forest for the beginning.. He sighed, passing through the doorway into Mr. Williams' rather comfortable office. Something about it made the professor's office more friendly.
Maybe it was because Mr. Williams was friendly as it was..
With a shy smile, Gawain took a cup from the table top and quickly sat down, pulling his legs close to the chair. To be honest, he was rather excited to hear some sort of good news for his rather horrid day.

"Well Gawain how was your break?" the blonde asks with a smile as he reaches down and picks up the saucer of the delicate china tea cup. With long fingers he turns the cup around so he can see the front graced with small moving Badgers. It had been his first solo charm spell to make the littles animals move across the cup and he was rather proud of it. He raises the cup to his lips and sips the fragrant tea. Roobos chai, his favorite.

Tino had been a few steps behind the other two after almost taking the wrong turn twice. Sixth year or not, the Finn still seemed to get lost; it wasn't his fault every corridor looked the same. After tripping on his robes while going up the stairs, Tino dusted himself off and put on a modest smile. Try not to be nervous, he told himself, this isn't anything bad.
He pushed the already ajar door open enough to slip in, then closed it quietly. The office was cozy and quiet. Tino walked swiftly to where Professor Williams and Gawain sat. "Sorry," He whispered (though unsure why he was being so quiet at all) as he took a seat on the couch.

Matt smiled. "Welcome Tino. Please have some Tea." he pushes a tea cup towards the other. "I have some great news." he smiles broadly. "As you know, I have been given the unprecidented honour of becoming head of the Hufflepuff house. "

Before he could start talking about the summer Mr. Williams had questioned him about, Tino arrived into the room, joining them and sending the professor's attention to the reason he had brought them into his office.
Honestly, he wasn't sure how to describe his summers. They were actually very odd compared to most families. Considering his family was the Kirkland family. Just the surname would tell you that he lived among very strange people. Not that he wasn't strange himself, but certainly not as much as his brothers were.
Gawain sighed, then smiled for the other two blonds. "Yes, sir. Congratulations," he said, continuing to hold his tea and, strangely, he was yet to take a drink of it. Maybe he wasn't really in the mood for tea-- The Welshman mentally questioned his own state of health before finally taking a drink of the hot liquid and returning to look at Tino and Mr. Williams.

"Thank you, sir," Tino muttered, picking up the cup carefully. He sniffed the tea dubiously and stared at the dancing badgers with a little smile. His head nodded vaguely along to whatever Mr. Williams was saying, but his mind wasn't really paying attention. "Yes, that's very nice," He murmured with his eyes trained on the whimsical cup.

Matt smiles. "Well I figured I needed some trustworthy to help me, because to be honest I am not quiet sure what I am doing." He sips again trying to think of a way to present the next bit. He could be sly and hint at it a little more, but he had never been all that good at being sly, so he best just say it. "I needed prefects and you two seem to be the best canidates. "

Tino's cup almost fell from his hands at the professor's words. Luckily, it only tipped and spilled a little tea on his leg. He shook the fabric to dry it before the hot liquid could soak into his pants too. "W-Wow, Mr. Williams," He smiled, "That's, wow, that's a real honor." Tino wasn't usually chosen to lead things or do stuff and only ever seemed to be the best candidate for making a fool out of himself, so this felt like a big step up to him.

So many, many, emotions bubbled inside as Gawain heard his professor speak, giving him and the Finn sitting close the titles of 'prefect'. One of those emotions were, obviously, pride. Personally, he never expected much of himself, and to get the honor of being a prefect was certainly something he had not even dreamed about. Well. That's not true. He had dreamed of it, more or less. Just, it seemed so impossible he had pushed it away. His brothers were the one who excelled and were known around the school. Not him.
Another emotion was of nervous proportions. Would he ever honestly be able to handle something like this? He was not the kind of person to tell people what to do at all. Oh well. He wasn't going to say anything against the professor's choice.
Choose your words carefully.
"Th-thank you, Mr. Williams, but.... A-are you sure... That I'd be.. A good prefect?" The blond questioned, fidgeting with the tea cup in his hands and focusing on the floor and carpet, rather than the man's face.

"To answer your question Gawain, I am not sure." He smiles lightly and sets down his cup.
"I believe you have the potential to be one, and by that I mean both of you. You seem kind, fair and willing protect and serve." He reaches up and brushes a stray curl out of his face and was silent for a moment as he thinks of his next sentence.
"You exemplify What Helga Hufflepuff taught to her students when she was alive and what we have passed down at this school for generations. I believe putting you in to this position will help you grown and learn and help you find yourself and achieve the potential I see in you."
