((OOC: Open only to Antonio-also at some point I realized that this could have just occurred during a class since you're the care of magical creatures teacher. OTL gotta love those memory fail moments))
Looking up, it was nearly impossible to tell that it was late afternoon. Stupid tree's-he should have brought a flashlight or something. Why the hell was he even here anyway? oh that was right, wormwood. This was definitely the last time he lost a bet. Why did that kid even need it anyway, as far as he knew it could only be used in a draught of the living death...on second thought he didn't want to know.
Damn crazy housemates...
Oh well, the quicker he found it, the quicker he could leave. Lovino scowled distastefully at the forest floor, cringing as he thought he heard something move several yards away. Yeah, leaving was a good incentive to get a move on.
If he got eaten someone was getting the mess haunted out of them.

After waking up from his daily nap, Antonio had decided to take a walk into the Forbidden Forest to find a good place for an upcoming lesson. It was warmer that day, so he had decided to leave his cloak in his office and had a few of the buttons of his shirt undone.
Hands shoved in his pockets, Antonio let his eyes adjust to the darkness of the forest. Despite all his years here as a student and the few as a teacher, he still never remembered how dark it could get in the forest even during the day.
Out of the corner of his eye, Antonio noticed something move not so far away from him. He glanced over and...
"Eh? Lovi?"

Fuck.His.Life. Lovino didn't have to look to know who's voice it was. Figures-not only would he run into a teacher, he'd run into that teacher. He looked left and then right and wondered how difficult it would be to blend in with the trees or just run. The professor might believe he'd just been imagining things...nah, no one was that dumb unfortunately.
Well, if he was caught now was probably time to start thinking up some kind of excuse.
"Oi! That's not my name!" All Right, not exactly an excuse, but a distraction would give him more time to think. He crossed his arms and scowled at the teacher. "I've told you before Professor Carriedo. Lo-Vi-No" hopefully his prescense would seem slightly less suspicious if he acted natural.

Antonio started smiling a little bigger than he had before, seeing that it was indeed Lovino. In the Forbidden Forest. Against school rules (not that he'd actually notice any time soon). He walked closer to the student, not noticing how the student seemed to be looking for an escape route.
Ignoring Lovino going over his full first name, Antonio started, "Well, it'd actually be Professor Fernandez because..." Before he could explain the process of Spanish surnames, a thought suddenly occurred to him. "Wait, what are you doing in the forest, Lovi? You could get kicked in the face by a centaur! Or trip over a tree root. They can be quite tricky sometimes..." Never mind that it was against the rules for Lovino to be there in the first place.

And there was the 'Lovi' again. He really should have known that was a loosing battle.
Lovino groaned inwardly. He should have just made a run for it, captain unobservant probably wouldn't have noticed. Oh well, he could probably use that to his advantage.
"Well I finished my homework..."...that was a lie "...so I decided it would be nice to take a walk out here..." also a lie "...since it was such a nice afternoon" not as much of a lie, but not particularly truthful either considering the surroundings. "I'll look out for roots and try and keep my face away from the feet of centaurs" though really, if one was close enough to kick him in the face it was probably about to do something much worse to him anyway. "Now if you'll excuse me I really should be going..."

"Oh, you're taking a walk, too?" Antonio perked up, not exactly picking up on the fact that Lovino was trying to get away from him. "So am I. Except I'm trying to find a good place to have a class later...You know, the Forbidden Forest isn't the best place for a walk. By the lake is probably better. Much brighter and you can go for a swim if you wanted. It's probably still a bit too cold, though..."
The teacher paused, looking back up at Lovino. He furrowed his brow and crossed his arms as if to inspect the student. "Wait a second..."

Lovino gave the teacher an annoyed look. He seemed insistent on carrying on a conversation, this was definitely interfering his get away plans. "Well, I hope you have fun finding...what ever it is you're looking for, wasn't really listening. Bye ba-Professor" He was about to turn on his heel and walk away when he finally shut up.
Oh no, that didn't sound good.He blinked in a mock confused manner. "hmmm? Something wrong?"

"I just remembered why this is called the Forbidden Forest." Antonio sighed, "Ay, Lovi. You know it's against the rules to be in here unsupervised, right?"
There was a soft rustle in a bush nearby, but Antonio did not pay attention to it. He uncrossed his arms, shoving his hands back into his pockets. "I mean, I remember coming here a lot when I was a student for various reasons, but none of them were to simply take a walk," he continued, now actually contemplating what Lovino had said to him earlier.

Lovino snorted involuntarily before he could stop himself, resisting the urge to laugh out right. "Oh really, I had no idea..." he'd been here seven years-of course he knew he wasn't allowed to be in the forbidden forest.
He gave the bush an uneasy look, eyeing it suspiciously and inching away from it."You didn't, wonder why that was? could it be the darkness and the questionably large amount of creepy animals?" His eyebrow twitched and his hands went to his hips. "If I'm in trouble can we move this alnog-I've got things to do"

"The creatures are not that creepy," Antonio said in defense. "I mean, sure, some can be quite vicious when provoked but usually they're really nice. Most of them."
He furrowed his brow and looked at Lovino again, wondering what exactly the most suitable punishment was. "I guess I have to give you a detention," Antonio finally said just before the bush rustled again. This time, he actually turned to look at it before shrugging it off. It was probably just an imp or something relatively harmless like that.

"Because vicious is definitely an improvement on creepy" Lovino grumbled. "Means they're less likely to follow you and possibly attempt to eat you and more inclined to attack you and leave your carcass somewhere for no reason" He gave Antonio a blank look, plenty of animals fell outside of "most".
Just a detention? He'd done them before, he could live with that. He shrugged. "Alright, when?" He didn't wait for a reply, his attention more focused on the bit of foliage. If something was going to try and attack him he was going to see what it was first. Glancing around, he spotted a rock. Picking it up he tossed at the bush, scanning it for some sort of reaction.

"But they're only vic--" Antonio was able to try and defend the forest's inhabitants when he saw Lovino throw a rock at the rustling bush. He stared at the bush awaiting a reaction, and when nothing happened within a few short moments, he turned back to Lovino. "You know, throwing rocks isn't very nice," Antonio chided, now having forgotten what he was about to say.
"Anyway! We were talking about detention, right?" he continued, not waiting for the Italian to reply. His back turned away from the bush, he contemplated aloud (more to himself than Lovino) when exactly a good time to give a detention was. "I suppose after 4 sometime this week...or 4:30. Or maybe before dinner...Or..." As he rambled, a chestnut colt with small wings emerged from the bush and started to approach them.

"Throwing rocks isn't nice?!" Lovino repeated. He scowled at Antonio, hands going to his hips as he eyed the, apparently quiet, bush, eye twitching slightly. "I think what ever is killed the obligation for common courtesy, seeing as its skulking around in the bushes" He grumbled.
"No we're talking about a dinner date-no duh, we're talking about detention" This comment was lost though, as the man seemed to be more intent upon talking to himself. Really, weren't teacher supposed to know how to give detentions? Tch, failure.
He made a small noise of surprise at the animals sudden appearance, eyes narrowing as it got within a foot or so of him. OK, so maybe it didn't look all that vicious...he inspected it for a moment before reaching out a hand to poke at it.

"...or maybe we could grow tomatoes. That doesn't really seem like much of a punishment, though..." Antonio pondered; he was never the teacher to really give out detentions (because he usually didn't notice when students were breaking rules). He heard Lovino make a small noise, snapping out of his small reverie and looking up at the boy. Then, finally, Antonio noticed the creature, who had flinched slightly at Lovino's poke.
"Ay! It's an aethonon," Antonio observed, smiling as he crouched slightly to rub the creature's forehead. "I didn't know there were any in the Forbidden Forest." He hummed happily and murmured to the colt, "Well, aren't you a cute little thing?" and chuckled quietly to himself.

He was tempted to just turn around and tell the Antonio to just give him kitchen duty or something, since he seemed to be the one with more experience on the matter-he'd lost track of how many detentions he'd gotten that year alone. Then again, he'd probably get something easier if he left the teacher to it.
The winged animal gave him a hurt look, but didn't bite him like he'd been expecting. He gave it an apologetic pat on the nose. "Oh really? I hadn't noticed" he commented sarcastically at Antonio's observation. Then something occurred to him. "these things aren't supposed to be in this area of Britain at all right? and shouldn't there be more of them, not just this one running around by its lonesome?"

((OOC: Sorry it took so long to reply! I've been busy with schoolwork and finals. Dx))
"Actually, I'm pretty sure aethonons live all throughout Britain," Antonio replied, "but you make a good point about it being alone. Since aethonons have similar behavior patterns as normal horses, this little guy should probably be old enough to be part of a bachelor herd."
The teacher stood back up after given the winged creature a soft pat. "If I had known I'd run into one of these things today, I would have brought some sugar cubes with me," he laughed, smiling over at Lovino. Looking back at the lone aethonon and remembering that he still needed to give the student a detention, Antonio snapped his fingers and said, "I know what you could do! We could find this guy's herd. That way, he'll get back to where he needs to be and you'll have your detention."
Now, how and where exactly to lead the horse-like creature? It didn't occur to Antonio that they didn't have the slightest idea where to go or that the aethonon might not even need help getting back.
