Shelving. Shelving. Shelving.
It was all Kiku did since he arrived at Hogwarts, to be exact, 10 hours ago. The nap in the train didn't seduce him into sleeping again, and the first place he had been sent to was the library. He really didn't need a house elf to lead him to the place where he used to practically LIVE at, when he was a student here. And this place never changed. It probably never would in the future. Lugging his suitcase to the large doors of the library the stretched his back, feeling the comfortable snap as the joints stretched out and opened the door, being greeted by....
....unshelved books.
Shelving. Numerous books. Numberous pages.
It was fun at first. He even flipped through a few books he remembered reading in his youth. None of his teachers would be teaching here.....most likely. Maybe a few.......
I'll probably find out later.
Shelving. More books.
Kiku was getting tired. He was semi-glad that the Library was desolated as always. No one ever came here to study save the upper-level Ravenclaws, occasionally Slytherins, and the rare amount of Gryffindors who were never up to anything good. I'll take at least 20 books or so tonight and leaf through them.. He picked up a book about transfiguration, leafed through it, and settled it down beside him on the desk. ..Starting with this one.
Shelving. Shelving. He'd never have to leave this place ever again.

Matt glided past the stacks, unknowingly invisible. He carried in front of him a large stack of books, but trusted others to move out of the way. It was hard work helping the 7th years with their charms but Matt needed something to keep him busy. Between Al poking around him trying to make him eat and the lessons with Arthur the poor blond was exhausting his powers of control. The students remained a wonderful source of energy, always viewing him as a teacher, and Matt could take on that role easily to stop the curse when he was working for them.

Kiku's ears heard the bell tingling when it opened. A student..? He didn't bother to look up though. He couldn't possibly help anyone at this time of moment, having it be his first day. "They probably don't have a stupid computer for the catalog of all these books...damn it. How am I supposed to know what's been checked out and what hasn't?" Kiku grumbled under his breath as he continued shelving books, the mountain around him never ceasing to get smaller. Why did he need to shelve so many books anyway. I'll ask one of the teachers for an effective spell to shelve these without all this trouble everyday, or I'll go nuts....what's so bad about asking kids these days to put books back where they got them?!
He grabbed the nearest handful that belonged somewhere else and proceeded to walk that way, getting more and more emotionally fatigued at the second. It had been YEARS since he had worked in a place that had any chance of socialization on a daily basis. "I'll look for a librarians assistant...maybe get permission from the Headmaster to give them points or something when they help." He mumbled quietly, turning the corner sharply. A little too sharply. "WAAAAAHHHH!;;;"

Matt felt the other slam into him knocking the Invisible teacher to the floor. The second he landed he turned visible with a small (but manly) Squeak. The books flew up in the air and dropped on his chest knocking the wind out of him.

"S-Sorry!" The Japanese male called out to the other he hadn't seen yet, as he scrambled to get the books back into a stack. "I couldn't see over the high stack of books I piled onto myself-" He brushed the light coat of dust off of his pants before looking up...
..at the face of an angel.
.......more specifically purple eyes and blonde hair. I've obviously been living too much in Japan. I forgot the physical differences they have here. Kiku thought as he rubbed his eyes for a better look and held out his hand at the still sitting down male who seemed just as shocked to suddenly collide with someone. "Sorry..Are you alright?"

Matt coughed "Y-yeah though I think I might have some cracked ribs" He took the hand and pulled himself up. "Hello. My names Matthew Williams. You can call me Matt." He dusted himself off and made sure he could breath before he focused on the other man. "You look familiar. "

"Cracked Ribs?!" Kiku brought a hand to his mouth. My first day of school and I've already injured someone here;; He was about to request the infirmary for his cracked ribs when the other introduced himself and immediately shut his mouth. "My name is Honda. Kiku Honda. I'm the new Librarian they hired." He smiled apologetically before letting the hand go when he man seemed like he was good on his own. Westerners were so tall...he never really noticed their appearance because he had studying to concentrate on, but now, Kiku appreciated this new environment and thanked it for the new...."moe" it inspired in him. "I look familiar? ..I did once enroll here as a Ravenclaw..or it might be because people of my ethnicity are very hard to tell apart;;;"

Matt blinked "Oh..." he thought for a moment and then a big grin came over his face. "Well you might remember me? I was the short little Hufflepuff that followed Arthur around? " He laughed lightly at the memory of tagging behind the English boy like a puppy. "I probably never met you personally before. As for your Ethnicity no, I don't believe thats it." He bent down to scoop up the books. "So you're the new librarian?" he asks in a mild voice. "Excited?"

He personally didn't recall most of the people from his childhood.....save a few. He did remember Arthur Kirkland. Then again, who didn't know the Kirklands in this world, who went to school with them. He remembered there being a Kirkland family, and that people told Kiku to stay away from him. This is very VERY rude if you don't remember SOMETHING about him... Kiku bit his lip, thinking furiously about anything the young man before him did in his childhood. He did remember SEEING him....always looking at the Kirkland with dreamy eyes.....saying something....[/i] "..you were the one good at Charms." Kiku blinked a few times before mumbling. "I'm sorry, but that's all I remember about you;; I was never the social butterfly back then...and I kept myself in the Library all 7 years....." He lifted his hand to tuck his side bangs behind his ears. Something else bugged him about this man, but he brushed it aside for now.
Kiku laughed softly at the mention of his becoming a Librarian. "It's certainly more stimulating then my former profession, I was a novelist." A BL novelist to be exact. "And I'm not really good with children, or people in general..but I did need to find a new job. I had to take this..something called me back, you know?" He looked at the library, the school. This magical adventurous secure place.

Matt chuckles "Sounds about right, thats all I was good at." He tugs on his bangs in thought. "Hogwarts has a way of doing that. It was the same for me when I was done with my time in canada. " He blushes as he pushes forward. "It was almost like it chose me to come back.
"Hey want to wander down to the kitchen and grab some tea? Its always nicer to talk over something nice in your hand. " He smiles earnestly. "Al's out doing something so I am kind of lonesome.

"I see..." Kiku felt a little pang in his heart, as Matthew invited him to tea. He had to make SOME sort of friend, or accquaintence here as much as he liked having his alone-time. Still, the presence of someone who wasn't his ethnic background troubled him. It felt like home, but it still was different.
It's not like you ever felt completely comfortable anywhere to start with, Kiku Honda. He thought and nodded back slowly. The man in front of him just said he was lonesome. That's a good excuse to break out of his shell. He didn't seem loud and obnoxious either. "..Tea sounds wonderful....and warm." Kiku smiled, shivering slightly. Thinking about the temperature seemed to make it drop suddenly. He had forgotten how cold the Library was. Making a mental note to himself to buy something warmer to wear, he looked at the books on the floor.
"But first..I must shelve."

Matt smiles. "Well how about this, Meet me in my office in about an hour, I will have made some tea and food by then" He shifts the books. "Don't look so stiff Kiku none of us are going to bite. Except mabye Francis but then you will enjoy it." He jokes lightly and then bows low and turns to leave
"see you in an hour."

"See you in an hour.." Kiku smiled back as he waved his small hand at the retreating figure. As soon as Matthew disappeared behind the doors, he sighed deeply and leaned against the wall. This was going to take some time getting used to.
That's right. They don't bite......save whoever this Francis person is.. Matthew said that he would enjoy it. Pray to god he's not a vampire....though if he wasn't a vampire, it would be mildly if not terribly disturbing. Kiku was completely unaware that what Matthew said was a joke.
"Don't go near Francis...." He chanted as Kiku continued to shelve. Inwardly, he couldn't help but be ecstatic at meeting someone. And talking to them. And being invited. And all that jazz. It was his first encounter with the countless angelic-looking people who surrounded these grounds. Kiku was afraid of talking to them yes,
but he could always admire them from afar.
He had a tough life ahead of him; with so many people around himself in a constant basis. Even with the seclusion of the Library, Kiku would have to talk to someone at least once a month. Students got detention almost every week here while he was here. Shelving in the Library or cleaning this place was one of the detention tasks. It was also once a hotspot for all the socially awkward individuals like himself. Hopefully the kids are much better these days, unless their parents raised them like how they were raised. Kiku thought, sighing as he mentally memo-ed himself the luxury of the restricted library area. He had never been there in his life,
.....What am I thinking. Seclusion Kiku. Seclusion. Seclusion helped you stay away from all those different people, no things. They're not someone you can easily talk to. Shelving the last book of his pile into its proper home, Kiku looked down at the floor where there was significantly less dust from when they fell. Matthew seemed like a nice person. Who knew what he hid from everyone. Maybe he didn't. Maybe he was just as pure as everyone else in this world. "I may of course, be over-thinking again." Kiku whispered to himself as he checked his watch and at the pile of books. He would lug them up to his own room later.
But first, tea. With a soft-spoken angelic figure with a purple gaze.
[[[....AND WITH THAT WRAPPED UP, OFF TO MATTHEW'S ROOM!!]]]
