It was a few nights after.
Arthur had finally decided to send a message down (by patronus, to Matthew's office) to bring him up here for a meeting at roughly just at the time where the sun outside was just lazily slinking behind the rim of the horizon for the day. There was a chill breeze in the air that would nip slightly at anyone close enough to the window, but he kept it open, nethertheless.
A cup of tea was poured out, Arthur seeming to expect him being here practically on the dot. He really wasn't like Alfred or anybody; not to mention, he didn't have the emotion to be late.
The Brit just waited, patiently.

Sure enough Matt arrive, knocking lightly on the door before popping his head in. "Good evening Headmaster." he said quietly, the same polite yet bored tone in his voice, though his eyes seemed less cold, though still dead. "How are you?"
The blond moved into the room, settling down at the desk with a smooth if a little clumsy movement. He looked tired, as though he had not slept for days. His hair was rumpled and his left cheek reddened with a large ink stain just starting to fade. He was definitely skinner, his cheeks being a little more hallow.

The male studied the other for a moment, before he raised a polite smile.
"I'm very good, thank you. And you, Williams?"
While he said this, he flicked his wand and a plate of scones and quaint biscuits appeared on a plate in front of them. Arthur picked one up and buttered it, before putting it in front of Matthew's cup on a smaller plate. He picked his own up.
He wouldn't be able to get him to concentrate if he wasn't at least somewhat full.

Matt takes the tea but ignores the biscut. "A little tired." he sipped the tea. "You know work and All, I have to looked good for the children." Matt did too, never would the children see him like this. He had only just woken up from a impromptu nap. He would never tell the other about how weak he felt.

Arthur watched him for a moment, before he felt himself becoming a little agitated. Why wasn't he eating? This wasn't right...
Arthur sighed.
"... I'd really, really reccomend you eat some of this food. While for the most part we're not going to do anything learning to become an animagus required a sufficient amount of energy - particularly glucose - so I'd rather get you into the habit of having something sweet before every session."
Maybe one of the more subtle lies he had created, but there was truth in it. If Matthew didn't have energy, there was no way in hell he could even think about lifting his wand.

Matt shifted letting the new rule sink in. Well if the work burned off the calories.... he could cut back on his daily meals some more. "I ate already Arthur." he muttered but took the Biscuit anyway and quickly ate it, ignoring how good it felt.

Once Matthew started eating Arthur felt himself relax; at least he was eating. And hopefully he wouldn't be stupid enough to let that effect the rest of him.
"This is an extra, remember. You need to keep your energy up anyway. It's not like any of the professor's here are overweight - we all end up working it all off, eh?" His head tilted and his own smile was remarked, Arthur taking a bite of his own so as not to feel like he was subconcsiously patronizing the Canadian. He licked a few crumbs off his lips quickly before wiping it on a hankerchief, before finally leaning forward as he grasped ahold of his tea.
He looked at Matthew fully.
"I have had to mention such a thing to the Ministry of Magic, as you should know."
Otherwise, god knows what could happen to the both of them..

Matt nodded "I knew that. " He finished eating and licked his lips nervously. "And?"
He adjusted his robes in nervousness.

Arthur sipped at his tea patiently.
"... Well. Becoming an animagi takes a lot of skill, concentration and powerful magic to be able to sustain. While becoming one it can also come out with terrible consequences if you are not taught or watched carefully, so the Ministry of Magic likes to keep a close eye on these things.
Of course, if we do go ahead with such a thing, I'll just be reporting back to the Ministry on your progress. That's all."
They had enquired a few more things. But none of that was attained to Matthew.

Matt nods and sips his tea right back. He smiled. "Well I assumed so, I have studied the ideas and the Canadian government does similar things on the shaman of the tribes, though they don't do progress reports becuase the techniques are more sacred but..." He sighed.
"Whats first?"

Arthur nodded at that.
"Well. Right. To start with, I thought it'd be useful to discover what animal you'll actually become. There's two ways to do this. I thought this would be more simple."
He pulled out a small goblet full of some sort of liquid, and pushed it towards the Canadian.
"It might take a while to get out of it, but it's not harmful in any way."

Matt stared at the cup. "What?" he said looking up at the other, sure he trusted him but he wanted to know what was in there before he drank it.
"Whats it going to do to me?" he asked slowly. His fingers twitched in nervousness.

"You'll just turn into the animal that is your animagus for a while. It'll wear off." Arthur nodded.
"You'll be fine. I've seen it used on people before and such, so it's not exactly dangerous. It'll help to see what animal you become first. Then we can work from there."
He waved a hand, gazing at the Charms teacher.

Matt lifts the cup and sniffs it, making a face at the smell. Shape changing potions always had a scent to him that never quiet smelled right. He swirled it, glancing at the goblet and then with a deep breath down it in one gulp.
His face scrunched as it went down and for a second he felt nothing, until a warm fire spread out over his body and took his breath away. It was not a unpleasant feeling but not a Pleasent one either. He could feel his spine bending and stretching and his bones grinding as they shifted places and positions. Hair growing created prickly feeling over his skin.

Arthur blinked.
His eyes widened.
A smile split across his face, looking down at the creature now on the desk in front of him as he stood up. His hands clasped together.
"... Matthew, you're a wolf!"

The Wolf blinked his beautiful Amethyst eyes up at the other. He stood and stretched, shaking out his fur, a beautiful blend of Brown red and white. He looked around at the room, feeling very pleased with himself. The room had faded to black and white with shades of grey but the smells that pulsed around him were Awe inspiring. He looked back up at Arthur and somewhere in the back of his mind he noted his tail wagging and his body spring forward to tackle Arthur as joy rushed through him.

"G-Gngh--!"
Arthur couldn't really say much, being toppled over in a matter of moments. Okay, wolves could be incredibly strong and Matthew really was no different, even though he did have a rather thin appearance about him, Arthur couldn't prize him off.
"A-Ah okay Matthew -- y-you--"
He felt himself pause for a moment, before he felt his chest heaving and Arthur started laughing.
He hadn't seen Matthew this happy in years.

Matt began to lick him, tail high and going a mile a minute. The laughter was strangely musical to his new ears and he liked it. 'Then keep making him laugh!' came the feeling from the back of his mind. So Matt did, happily. He yelp and cuddled against the other thinking only of showing his gratitude.
He liked being in this form, becuase there was no pain with the joy, the caring for the other that was much less complex than before could show through.

It was brilliant to see someone who had been so unemotional for so long in such a happy form, but after he just collapsed on the chest it was becoming pretty difficult to breathe.
He grinned anyway for a moment, reaching up to ruffle at Matthew's neck. He sat up.
".... Very suitable, I feel. How interesting."

'I guess it is' he thinks but then doesn't really care. The wolf cuddles up to the hand and lets his tongue loll out to the side and sits down next to him. He wags his tail, looking the other in the eyes. For the first time you can now see the marking, a leaf shape on his forehead.
It was then that his stomach growled loudly. If he was human he just would have blushed but instead he wines at the other.
