Country: The United Mexican States (AKA Mexico)
Name: Guadalupe de la Sangre (just called Lupe for short)
Age: 22
Gender Female.
Appearance:
Lupe is about 5’6, with a rich, dark skin from being in the sun most of her life. She has long, thick black hair down to her waist, half up with a green bow and dark brown eyes. She’s always prided herself in her curvy features, but recently has dropped some pounds due to stress, which is freaking her out (she loses weight in her chest first…). She has an ahoge (representing Baja California) protruding from her bangs and a smallmole beauty mark (Mexico City) above her left eyebrow. She also has a pair of glasses (her first pair were stolen by some rude younger boy who lived across the street from her...). She wears a long red robe, comfortable brown sandals (hidden, of course), and has a love of long, flowing skirts.
Personality:
Seeing her fair share of difficulties throughout her life, Lupe has grown increasingly strong willed and determined throughout the years. She is a hard-worker, but is constantly stressed since things don’t seem to go her way at times.
The woman cares deeply about her family and friends and always sticks to the side of her allies, but is so caught up in her own problems she doesn’t have time to help them with theirs (which puts some people off).
Lupe is a big romantic. She is obsessed with novellas and loves to dish about the latest couples (or at least the ones she thinks are couples~).
Although she hates to admit it, she relies on her friends for tremendous support. Lupe tries to hide the fact that she is emotionally unstable at times, but she always has a genuine smile to give and reassures that things will turn out ok…
Lupe, although kind towards others, is a ticking time-bomb. She doesn’t like to fight with others (due to bad experiences), but she has shown those who have dared to confront her that she is a force to be stricken with. She never goes down without giving her foe a hell of a fight!
About the Country: [[Forgive me if it's a bit off and feel free to correct me!]]
-Mexico was one of the first frontiers in the discovery of the New World.
-It is famous for housing the Mayan Empire (which mysteriously disappeared) and the mighty Aztec Empire, who met its fate at the hands of the conquering Spain.
-Mexico was first known as New Spain and was ruled over for hundreds of years before becoming independent.
-Sadly, the post-independence period was characterized by economic instability, territorial secession and civil war, including foreign intervention, two empires and two long dictatorships.
-The Mexican-American War resulted with Mexico surrendering and America buying over half of the country’s land.
-Most recently, the country declared a war against rival drug cartels, determined to bring an end to the drug trafficking that has caused thousands of deaths in Mexico and other countries.
-The rising conflict is seriously jeopardizing foreign investment in Mexico as well.
Class they teach: Astrology
House when they were a student: Gryffindor
Blood Type: Pureblood
Anything Else?:
Her wand is a 12.5” yew, dragon heartstring. Perfect for hexes.
Guadalupe was born into an esteemed pureblood family by the western coasts of Mexico. Her family had strong ties to another prominent wizard family in the country, but not long after Lupe reached late childhood, tensions between the two escalated and a bloody war ensued. The aftermath left Lupe’s family in shambles, completely penniless, and, to save her future, she was shipped to Spain to live with her grandmother. The two left for the U.K. shortly afterwards, where Lupe gained a great skill for hexes, curses, and her abuelita’s love of astronomy. Although life seemed well, Lupe was left to deal with the turmoil of a fallen family as a young child and has since been determined to restore honor to her family’s name.
Lupe tends space off in thought, which in turn leads her to harm herself by elegantly bumping into walls and tripping on her robes…::
She was madly in love with her childhood friend Alfred, but could never find the right time (or cajones) to tell him. She instead took the easy route and began to stalk the man at an early age (whether he knew it or not is beyond her…) After he came out to her, she remained completely supportive of her dear friend. Her little crush, however, has yet to fully disappear....
Being brought up very religiously, she carries a cross around her neck wherever she goes. She’s also VERY superstitious and believes in ghosts, la chupacabra, and can be seen throwing salt over her shoulder every day during supper. Lupe is completely obsessed with aliens and hopes to find alternate life in the stars.

With a content sigh, Professor Sangre watched her first class of the new school year gather their belongings and head down the stairs of the Astronomy Tower.
“Don’t forget class, you’ll have your first test on Friday so make sure you study hard!”
A passing student gave her a weary stare before groaning to his fellow classmate. She grinned at their expressions and hurried them off with a wave of her hand.
Guadalupe watched as the last two first years scurried out the class and descended down. Leaning back in the old wooden chair behind her desk, she confidently concluded to herself that this was going to be a good year. The new batch of young wizards and witches seemed very promising…
Lupe paused. Craning her neck, she could make out a forgotten textbook left on the desk in the back of the classroom. She rolled her eyes and forced herself up and over to the table. She proceeded to take the book into her possession when she noticed there what first looked like a comic book hidden under the book. She adjusted her glasses and read the title…
“…Girls, Girls, Girls: ‘Out of this World’…?”
Of course, Lupe was confused beyond her wits at first, but realization hit her immediately.
“…this must be a muggle magazine about space creatures!”
After all, it was so obvious! The rather lovely young lady gracing the cover was wearing a snug silver spandex suit, clearly portraying the muggle stereotype of aliens in strange space suits. Lupe noted the somewhat….suggestive position the blonde girl put herself in (like holding a large, green glowing laser gun between her legs), but it surely was to draw in the male reader.
The grinning Astrology teacher was completely ecstatic. It was hard to find someone in the wizarding world who was as interested in aliens as she was (there was Alfred, but she was a mess around him...), let alone a student! She couldn’t even imagine the conversations she could have with this mystery student and the friendship they could have! It had been a while since she felt a connection with one of her students.
“Well then,” Lupe said to herself as she opened to a random page, “let’s see what the muggle world has to say about space alie-………………”
.
.
.
THAT. Was NOT what a laser gun was meant for…
Needless to say, when poor little Charles Parsons came back to retrieve his misplaced textbook, he received a whole month’s detention after class, weekends included, and was no longer allowed to “lead his poor professor’s heart into silly thoughts of student-teacher friendships”.
He still doesn’t understand the last punishment.
