The expression remained readily on the headmaster, him clearly being lost in deep thought.
Okay, so he couldn't ask about the rest of it - obviously, Matthew couldn't remember.
Emerald in the Sapphire...
Something seemed to click amongst his mind, before Arthur stood up. He glanced at a few portraits.
Well...
He did need to find somewhere to go teach him.
"I'll teach you."
Emerald. In the Sapphire.
It made perfect sense.

Matt blinked. "You will?" he asked
The bubble of hope he felt was not squashed and the Amethyst eyes would so a sign of emotion. If he could become an Animagus...
'You will never be great' the memory echoed through his mind and the hope shrank in fear that reflected in his face. He steadied himself and took a long breath.
"Thank you headmaster" his voice was once again polite, with the same thankfulness as if the other wizard had blessed him after the sneeze, but it was there. He stood.
"If its alright... may I go to bed now?" he asked.

The headmaster managed to hide it pretty damn well, but his eyes softened a little. It was the first sign of well, comfortable emotion in the whole conversation. It had only really taken till now to truly understand the true lack of it in their conversation. Usually Arthur was very good at holding small, polite conversation but it really only occured to Arthur now just how much he did hold a bond while doing it, some sort of mutual acquaintanceship, at the very least.
Right now, it felt like he had been talking to a limp fish.
Arthur nodded.
"Ah, of course. I'll talk to you sometime about this. I hope it's soon, yes?"
He actually smiled.

Matt smiled and bowed. "As do I." He turned and left still in the listless way he had to. He left, his mind filled with thoughts and half muffled emotions.
