(( Continued from pottertalia.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=forbiddenplz&action=display&thread=148&page=1 )) It took a good five minutes walk, Arthur managing to feel the blood dripping down his back from the wound, the stubborn sting of it starting to irritate him. He murmered the words up to the gargoyle, stepped up onto it as it was moving, and sighed as he stepped into his office. The air itself was crisp and really quite bitterly cold; yet the window had been left relatively wide open, in order for his barn owl to go out for a hunt. Most of the portraits hanging by the window were shivering and muttering quite angrily to themselves, but tried to ignore it anyway. They hadn't been the best of the headmasters, anyway.. A wand was flicked and several candles lit up, the tea pot on the desk suddenly coming to life and pouring out two cups; one black, one white. He motioned to Matthew to take as he pleased. He disappeared up into his living quarters for a minute or two; his robes flowing out behind him - before returning out and quite quickly stepping back down again, only in slightly less attire, having pulled off his robe and outer sweater vest, leaving him in just a buttoned shirt on his top half. The blood was stained around the back left shoulder, quite a big rip in the clothing. Before he even reached out to get at the supples, his fingers curled around and he lifted up the teacup to his lips. A moment later and he sighed, gratefully. ".... Much better." He turned around, and just murmered to matthew while he worked on rolling out some package. "... You'll tell no one about this, will you." He murmered. It was more a statement than a question. All in all, it was quite embarassing for anyone to know about..

Matt blinked. "O-oh of course not... " He shifts waiting for an explanation. He lifts the tea to his lips, looking into the liquid quietly. So the other was a Animagus, interesting. He stirred the tea and glanced around the room and taking in the decor.
"So... " he coughed lightly. "A unicorn...."

His head was lifted up. He raised an eyebrow.
"..S-So? What about it?"
He honestly tried to remain neutral at that comment, but he couldn't help the colour blemish his cheeks.
Okay, so a unicorn wasn't exactly the most.. manly of creatures. But it was useful! It worked! And t-they were graceful and nice-looking and--
The Headmaster just resorted to almost retorting a 'hmph!' to himself and dragging some of the supplies towards the full length mirror he had placed at the side of the small steps he had leading up to his living space. He unbuttoned his shirt, gasped a little as he removed it with the blood sticking the shirt to his skin slightly, before glancing around to the mirror to inspect the wound. His expression didn't shift, and he just made to start cleaning it up, albeit a little bit of struggling to aim properly.
He usually didn't like changing in front of people, but there wasn't much else he could do.

Matt looked at him and for a second he seemed to want to help starting to get up before a flash of pain and a hiss. He settles into the chair turns back to the tea and begins to drink. "Its a wonderful form, I knew one who became the Native equivalent. He was one of the most wonderful people I knew." His voice was flat and monotone, as if bored.

There was a momentary pause as Arthur caught the hiss, but he just resumed to raising an eyebrow to himself and carrying on.
As the wound was cleaned up, he sighed at the sight of the cut itself. it was a pretty damned deep nick of a gash, but he'd had worse at times.
"... W-well, thank you?" he remarked, in his own polite manner. He did pause to look over at Canada, silently observing every movement, ever tone and body language that he held.
It was interesting, now he could do it without being distracted every couple of seconds.
"Well, I suppose you have an explanation to as why you were wandering in the forest so late at night - and how you happened to wander down so far."

Matt flickers his Amethyst eyes up from the cup. "I was unable to sleep." he said softly and turned the cup around to look at the craftsman ship. His body was stiff, not at all like the comfortable he had been before the hiss. He kept his arms close to his body. "I decided to wander the woods, When I heard you fighting I felt that I could help. "
He keeps his face blank as he feels the snake having burst through the second heart, the pain and magic still clustered there. He knew that if he blocked emotions he would at least let the snake slink back. It would take a good night to a day but he could do it.

Now, at this point Arthur had an urge to go over to the male and ask if he was okay. He did look suddenly awfully uncomfortable - but he ignored it. Well, tried to.
The gash was seen and the male grunted to himself. He applied some sort of ointment against it, and suddenly his own hissing was heard - if only for a second. He gazed at his own eyes.
"... I have to admit, that was idiotic. Those creatures could've have snapped you up in a heartbeat and you'd have never been seen again."
Now that would take some explaining to specific members of his staff..

Matt shrugs "My disappearance is of no concern to most, or it shouldn't." he reaches forward to take a biscuit from the tray he may or may not have summoned from the kitchen. "And my life is worth less than any other."
He shifts and sighs. "But yes I am idiotic to have put you through any trouble for me, I apologize."

Arthur rolled his eyes.
"No it isn't."
But he said no more.
After a moment or two he fumbled about, he finally looked up and glanced up at Matthew. He sighed, and held up a roll of bandages.
".. I hate to ask you to do such an unpleasant job, Williams, but I can't do this by myself. And maybe a soothing charm will suffice while you're at it.. if you please?"
Maybe it was a little much to ask for, but even so. He was the authority. He shouldn't really have to ask.
Mind you, he couldn't say he loved help all too much himself.

Matt seemed to stiffen and another flash of pain. Still he stood and with slow robotic pain filled movements he got over to the other and Pulled out his wand.
"O-Of course." He could feel the snake pushing towards the fourth heart as he muttered the spell quickly.

At seeing Matthew's movements, Arthur's expression fell. Okay, maybe this wasn't such a good idea...
The man seemed pretty insistent though so he let him cast the spell, before he suddenly sighed and looked at the Canadian through the mirror they were both staring at.
"... Just do it, Matthew. It's just a wound and it just needs bandaging. It doesn't hurt."
That was a lie. But.. Arthur had a tendecy to lie really quite well at times.
He really didn't like Matthew's expression, though...
Oh dear.

Matt tried to believe those words but he was staring at the wound. He could feel the snake beginning to gnaw the fourth heart as Matt tired, in his tired worn out mind to push the feelings back as he reached over and began to bandage.
It wasn't working.

Arthur stared, and after a moment, tried to wave his hand a little to try and garner the man's attention.
"... M-Matthew? Are you alright?"
He certainly didn't look it. Maybe it wasn't such a good idea afterall to let him do this...
But surely wrapping bandages on couldn't be such a struggle...

Matt winced. He couldn't answer as anything becuase of the curse. Oh how he wanted to tell Arthur, no no he wasn't instead he smiles as he feels the forth heart break and says "Fine headmaster." as he continues.

Arthur nodded, but he could feel the trembles on his back.
Okay, this couldn't be good. Maybe....
The headmaster watched for a few moments more - before he couldn't take it any longer.
He shrugged out of Matthew's grasp and just shook his head.
"N-No, Matthew. I'll be fine actually. -- go finish your tea."
There was silence. A horrible, tense silence, Arthur felt.
..Ugh.

Matt nodded and took the small mercy. He retreated and sat shaking in the chair. He quietly takes the cup and sips. He pauses and then sips again.
When Arthur would finish he would quietly say. "I want to be an Animagus."

That was when Arthur blinked.
".. An animagus?"
Of course, there were benefits to becoming an animagus. But it took so much willpower to manage it completely. Not to mention, all the official registration, etc towards it..
He'd disappeared for a few moments to put on a new shirt, and had returned not long after, picking up his tea as he finally sat down on the chair behind his desk with a pleased grunt. He tapped and swirled the liquid with his wand, warming it up again.
"... Didn't you say that you spent a lot of time around people who were? Why didn't you learn then?"
He didn't think an animagus would be so common, but there you go..

Matt sighed. He drinks the tea and casts his mind back on the memories. The long walks in the woods, the slow learning that Wizards weren't the only ones with Magic, the long piercing discussions about his soul and the state of it.
"John Lebeau, that was my teacher." He began, voice still fighting to be calm, letting himself relax. "He told me that Animagus, or skinwalkers, or any number of names, were a sign of a true shamans power. Only the strongest could do so, and while I had the power, I was not a shaman, I was an outsider. I was too set in the European ways to become anything with out it being explained in such a way and he could not do so. "
He internally winced at how bored he sounded, how flat. He hated being this way but the sting in his arm reminded him of what would happen if he resisted the curse and cared for another. It wouldn't have been so bad if he could have just TOLD someone what was bothering him but every time the thought to say something so much as came to his mind he felt a pressure on his throat.
Matt frowned and stared down at the cup again, pushing the useless thoughts out of his mind and his emotions down.
"W-when I stopped my studies he told me I could, but I would have to.. find the Emerald in the Sapphire. He also told me many things that made little sense though...."

Arthur's expression stared thoughtfully somewhere past Matthew's shoulder.
The Emerald in the Sapphire..
He blinked.
"And is that all he said, hm?"
Riddles were easy for him to solve.
He was a Ravenclaw, afterall.

Matt sighed "No It was part of a long looooong loong poem I wrote down in four parts, I can only remember where the first bit is,. " he pauses wondering how far he could speak before the curse stopped him. "because I took a secret keeper out on the other three so I couldn't be ... um " Oh there it goes, his throat began to tighten and he changes sentences.
"yeah... I can't remember though, used a Memory charm on myself and the keeper. Timed it so I could find it when I needed it but um... I can't remember when I need it so." He looks mildly put out.
"Anyway... yeah " he shifted "There was more."
